our heritage

The Grange is a nonpartisan, fraternal organization that advocates for rural America and agriculture. With a strong history in grassroots activism, family values and community service, we are part of a network of more than 2,000 Granges in hometowns across the United States.

The Rutherford Grange was established by Rutherford farmers in 1916. The site was purchased for $10, and the hall was completed for the sum total of $2,800 later that year. Currently the Grange is undergoing renovations. It is a slow process as the work is contingent upon donations. More than $400,000 is needed to complete the restoration of this historic building.
